A twelve-year-old girl name Catherine just wants a normal life, which is nearly impossible because she has a brother with autism and a family that revolves around his disability. She's spent years trying to teach David the rules-from "a peach is not a funny-looking apple" to "keep your pants on in public"-in order to stop his embarrassing behaviors. In the summer, Catherine meets Jason, a paraplegic boy in OT(Ocupational Therapy). He seems to like her and she seems to like him to. She also meets Kristi, the next-door friend she's always wished for, it's her own shocking behavior that turns everything upside down. She make lots of rules for herself and David incase of any shocking moments. Catherine keeps on embarressing herself from the moment she met with Kristi and Jason to when Kristi asks Catherine out to a dance with Jason. Catherine then wonders: What is normal?
